Although early days, I can actually see Wigan making the top flight, Good manager bit of money behind them, nice stadium. Would be intresting if they made it, but the big question would they ever manage to fill that stadium?

Probably - they're just a hop away from all those big teams! Would be full of Man U and Liverpool fans though - Wigan will still only have their six or seven thousand fans.

Their town is slowy becoming more football dominated as Rugby is the number one sport.

I would actually like to see Wigan go up, smaller club, got a nice ground. Suprised though as Iv never rated Paul Jewel. Good news for Wigan is they have already beaten West Brom

Would be good to see Wigan get into the Premiership, but they'd never be able to compete and would come straight back down, unless their owner is willing to throw another 50million at the team.

Owner then loses interest (as well as the millions he's put in) and down the league they slide.

Sad but true

i was surprised to learn that they have only been a professional football club for 25 years,

Not a chance in hell Wigan will get promoted. Far too early. It's like saying Port Vale will win our division, and come on - that's never going to happen

Wigan seem capable of mounting as good a challenge as anyone else in Div 1 right now. They've got a good manager, a settled squad, financially sound and they're in good form.

However, there is no way they deserve a spot in the Premiership when the locals can't even be bothered to turn up.

The division is weak, and what with developments at Reading and West Ham I expect them to be contenders for the rest of the season.

Wigan have a good team and I would like to see them make it but realistically I can see them finishing just above mid table.

Also, I only made six of the last seven games at the Goldstone, so I can’t say how many teams did this but I still remember the Wigan fans when they came to the Goldstone giving vocal support to our campaign against Archer and Bellotti.

Reckon they will do well as there is still very few clubs in div 1 with money to splash,so playoffs for sure.

9k against westbrom is very poor and no doubt the baggys had 2-3k.:lolol: :lolol:
