Albion could easily have been ahead inside the opening seconds of the second half. Bruno helped the ball forward, Conway was involved and Barnes looked up before whipping a superb cross to Forster-Caskey at the far post. But the youngster’s diving header was straight at Nicholls.

3:48pm
Albion gifted the hosts a chance when Greer did not get enough distance on a header near his own far post but Fortune stabbed his shot into the side-netting.
There was better from Greer in added time as he sprinted across to block a low cross from McManaman behind for a corner.
Albion cleared the flag kick and, when another cross was swung in, Greer rose highest to head it away.
Half: Wigan 0 Albion 0

3:44pm
Wigan brought the game alive with a terrific bit of quality as Powell ran at Albion from*deep, strode on to a subtle return pass from Fortune and moved in towards goal, only to hook his shot past the post.
It was another hint of what the teenager on loan from Manchester United can do but the finish let Albion off the hook.

3:40pm
The game had gone quiet now. Ince gave possession away a couple of times but Albion made sure it was not costly.

3:30pm
Bruno booked himself a one-game ban by losing possession and then pulling back Powell as he led a dangerous counter-attack*.
It was the full-back's fifth caution of the season.
Thr resulting free-kick was eventually worked to Watson, who shot high and wide from 25 yards.

3:27pm
Powell offered a hint of his massive promise with a run inside from the right and a low drive which Kuszczak had to save sharply down to his right.
It was a decent stop by the Pole, marred slightly by a poor throw out which put Albion straight back under pressure. But they survived.

3:24pm
Barnes, doing a good job of bringing others into play, opened up the left side of the home defence by getting David Lopez away but a home foot poked the Spaniard's cutback away from the waiting Forster-Caskey.
Then Barnes got his head on to Bruno's long throw-in from near the corner flag*but Wigan cleared.

3:20pm
Then Forster-Caskey shot weakly wide from similar range after Crofts had started a move by turning nicely on to Greer's pass.

3:17pm
Barnes produced strong work to hold off Barnett and lay off a long ball into the path of Crofts. The midfielder had options buit went for a 20-yard shot and made awful contact, allowing Nicholls to control the ball like a back pass.

3:14pm
Then it was back to the other end and Greer slid in to make a terrific - and possibly goal-saving - challenge on Powell at close range.
Albrighton was looking lively. He switched to the left and played a crossfield pass which opened up Albion and led to Watson flashing a shot across goal and wide of the far post.
Wigan were looking the more dangerous side now.

3:11pm
Greer, though, had to be alert to clear at his far post when Albrighton chipped a ball across from byline.
Then Albrighton got to the byline again and his cross was headed goalwards by McCann - but Kuszczak got above a couple of players to fist away and the follow-up shot from Boyce deflected kindly into his hands.
As the game opened up, Bruno strode forward and suddenly saw the ball bounce towards him when Forster-Caskey's cross was cleared. He got good contact on his volley but it was close to Nicholls who parried - and the following-up Barnes was offside.

3:05pm
It was a quiet start as Albion enjoyed a lot of early possession without any threat - although that might have been different had Conway found Barnes after*going on a lively run on the left.

3:01pm
Albion fans away to the left will be behind Kuszczak's goal in the first half

2:56pm
A selection of soul classics are belting out from the loudspeakers as we await kick-off.
Tears*Of A*Clown currently.
I'll leave you to make up your own punchlines!

2:51pm
There’s an unbeaten home record at stake at the DW Stadium*today – and a chance for Albion to underline their recent progress.
Nine away sides, from England and overseas, have come here since Kemy Agustien helped Swansea to a 3-2 win last May. And, despite going behind in five of those nine, Wigan have emerged undefeated to date.
Only QPR have kept a clean sheet of the away teams to have come here. And even that was with the help of the upright.
So a tough test for the Seagulls. Or a good chance to show what they can do, depending on your viewpoint.
