Why havn't I opened a thread in a long time to vent on the political Arena, or to be obnoxious to you, or just to generally bolster my oversized ego?

Why?

there was a time many many moons ago when this was true and if I remember rightly I wouldn't shut up about it. I was also banned from joining the Young Socialists for being erm, too leftwing.

But thankfully my brain works now and puberty came on to begin to clear my head of such nonsense.:lolol:

Well I was in the IMG (International Marxist Group) and we thought the RCP were a load of middle-class softies. So ya boo to you!

You don't see Kensington Gardens or Gardner Street clogged up with 'Socialist Worker' sellers any more. There were a staple part of my vinyl- buying / bacon sandwich and cup of tea-guzzling / Albion-watching / beer-snogging Saturdays in the 1980s and 90s. Always advocating that the revolution was around the corner when the masses would overthrow Maggie. (Which they sort of did in 1990 with the Poll Tax riots, but that's another debate.)

Pain in the arse they were - a bit like 'chuggers' (charity muggers) today - and not one 'worker' amongst them. Weird thing is, I knew a few people in the SWP, and they were convinced the the RCP was full of white middle-class Tories...
