I say ban the scum as well. This is a local board for local people, not suburban south london computer geeks.

How can you say that when there are Seagulls all over the country. I'm one of those suburban south London computer geeks you are talking about and I'm Brighton through and through. Get a life.

That's true. There are some ignorant Eagles but some who have helped out as well ie Gosling and Trilby as well as Brighton Rock.

Lots of Palace fans have helped out with REMF in terms of the golf day and 11 a side, as well as fans united, Kevin Day is giving his time for free at the fundraising comedy night.

There is a difference between taking the piss out of your rivals and being an ignorant twat, but too many don't realise this.

We need to keep the hate alive. You need to get Falmer. We need to be playing each other regularly. Ok, ignore the last bit as you are of such a poor standard the cup is the only chance in the forseeable future.....oh,what a prospect! Seaweed at home in the 3rd round! Dreaming of that bye coming out the bag.

WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE,SAY, WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE!!

How is it, that when I read that last bit, my 'inner sound system' read that in a squeeky nerdy voice similar to a duck-caller ?

Anyone else find that last bit too outlandish to take seriously?

Good post. Palace fans are generally just footie fans like us. Sure they are are main rivals and we just love it when, once in a while we beat 'em, but is it really fair to label the decent ones that come on here as scum?

I'd rather by a palarse fan a beer and chat about footie than bother with Man Ure and Chelski plastic fans anyday.

Before I get slated, I was there in the seventies and eighties when we played them regularly and I'm well aware of what the rivalry thing is all about, but really hating people and calling them scum, just because they support the wrong team has to be ridiculous.

It's time some people supporting both clubs grew up a bit.
Many thanks for your kind words. I will be honest and like to buy a Beer for you too and chat about the good old days and how you woke up on a cold Boxing day morning in anticipation of what our rivalry would bring. The good old days can`t ever forget them.

I'm with El Pres on this. There used to be a time when I would look at eagerly for the Palace score and cheer whole-heartedly if they took a pasting, but now, I'm finding it harder and harder to dislike Palace.

I think that we have more in common with Palace than with the plastic, prawn sandwich-munching, glory-hunting Manure fans.

Shouldn't we ease down on this 'rivalry' a bit and concentrate on the common enemy - the agents, the businessmen, the marketing people, the scum who are leeching off our game and pricing it beyond ordinary people.

For Gerry Ryans sake we must never lose the footie hatred. If you saw a Palace fan in trouble (car broke down, lost, beaten up etc)99% of us would help as footie hatred is different from real hatred. In footie terms they are lowlifes but in real-life they are probably very nice people who have to work all week to save the money to go to footie to support thier local team.Still enjoyed chasing them through Hove Park though:angel: :lolol:

I agree with El Pres and Gwylan. The Palace fans have done so much for REMF and their best feature is they support their local side (like we do). Sure there's banter and rivalry and I hope it never dies, but I would never want to see Palace go bust or lose Selhurst Park. Struggling in Ryman League Divison 2 - yes. Out of business - no.

I feel sorry for them stuck in that North Surrey/South London no-mans land. It's a shithole!

I really do hate the twats, but if I met one socially, say on my hol's, I would expect a bit of harmless banter. I'm at an age where I've mellowed you see.

However, if we did get them in the cup....that would be the bollocks!

It's a long time since I've seen that many Albion up for a good day out first thing at Brighton station.
