Any Frenchman or ladies reading this the reason I want Italy
to win is called.............P.A.S.S.I.O.N.
Having watched football in both country's apart from
a couple of places like Marseille the French don't
give a shit about watching football.
THEY ARE MORE INTERESTED IN LOOKING AT A BLOODY
PAINTING!
The biggest sporting event in France is a bike race for
crying out loud!!!
France has produced some wonderful players like Zidane
but just look at their reaction when the beat Togo to
stay in the World cup or their reaction when they beat
Portugal.
Just a shaking of hands and some smiles.
The Italians always look as though they are having sex
with each other when they win.
No change there then!!
No country shows emotion like Italy.
ITALIANS AS A NATION ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT FOOTBALL,
FRANCE ARE NOT!!!
FORZA ITALIA!

France aren't cheats inany way close to the magnitude of the Italians and their national game isn't corrupt to the core. THAT is why they must win...for the good of football. Cheats out

I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but the French are finally getting the hang of supporting their national football team.

I'd always considered them a nation of cycling fans, a bunch of post-98 Jean-come-latelys who didn't know what it was like to support a club properly, let alone their country.

Bar the odd pocket - St Etienne, Marseille, Lens, maybe Bordeaux - they have always been generally shite fans.

But though it pains me to say it, having seen them in Germany against Togo, they were much more passionate, and made a lot more noise.

There is a big screen at the restaurant in the small village in SW France near where I am staying, only problem is that there are unlikely to be any Italians there to wind up.

Allez Les Vieux, Allez le Bleus :clap2:

Italians are a nation of gloryhunters. They fail to sell out any international match and took about 1,500 fans to Portugal for Euro 2004.

Their fairly large support in Germany is due to the many Italian immigrants (many now 2nd generation) who are happy to shout "Forza Italia" - unlike anyone in Italy since Berlusconi commandeered that slogan for the name of his political party.

The Italians want to win as they see it as a kind of "umbrella gesture" to the rest of the world which sees them as a bunch of cheating mafiosi.

According to today's Gazzetta dello Sport, 2.5 billion people will be supporting the Azzurri. This includes the adult populations of China, India, the USA and the UK as well as a host of other countries they seem to have chosed at random as theirs. (http://www.gazzetta.it/Speciali/Mondiale_2006/Primo_Piano/2006/07_Luglio/08/boldrini.shtml )

They just want to be loved.
