I don't know why this is going on al that St Leonards (aka The Auditor) has to do is get a precise of the Public Inquiry. He/She will then be able to see who the Club's solicitors, expert witnesses etc are.

Then get a programme from each of the last five years. In the programme he/she will find all the match sponsors, advertisers, friends of the Albion, ball sponsors etc. Compare the two lists and there's the answer.

Perhaps then come back on here and tell us that yes all of them have contributed in some way to the Club's cause.

Even looking at this year's programme will give you the yes answer.

Believe or not The Auditor and saint Lennard are not the same person

To a degree I agree with what St. Lennards is asking.
With the club desperately seeking cash I have wondered about firms, who must be making some money out of the club, if they put anything back in.
I obviously do not know the financial agreements with any firms but as for instances the Sportsman must take a lot of dosh on match days and what about the lounge caterers. Also the clubs printers etc..
Before any one has a go at me like they have St. Lennards I will tell you that I own a small business and am going to sign up as a Friend of the Albion which will cost me more every year than the lump sum £250 being asked for. My firm has no business connections with the Albion.

Well done that man. That's the way the club should get money - not by begging. The are too many beggers in Brighton already.

I understand what you are saying but that is YOUR choice. I would rather the club chose the law firm / planning experts / any other expert involved in the Falmer Inquiry becasue of their ability to do the job, not because they are offered some of the cash back.

If they are the best - why don't we have a ground yet!

But you've given no-one any reason to believe you are fans.

No preliminary postings about players, the manager, whether the Sheffield United goal was offside, Dan Harding's future. To say nothing of cheese.

You've just zoomed on to NSC, with one apparent objective in mind ... to get information about the Club's financial affairs.

You can't hurrey these things. You need to be patient.

Stupid stupid stupid.

Whilst I am not suspicious of your motives, and believe that in your own way, you have the clubs best interests at heart, what you have done is ask a stupid question. As a result you have riled people on here by not counting to ten and thinking "no - I wont post that because the club and/or solicitors won't respond". Now, through bluster and sarcasm, you guys are trying to turn it into a case of making sure that all avenues of income generation are being followed.

Thats not what you asked initially. Thats why you were jumped on.

The club wrote a letter to every fan, cap in hand, asking for cash. Do you honestly believe that they ignored every possibility before resorting to that?

No, what I am saying Wardywonderland is, have the club gone to these service companies and asked if they would like to contribute
Unfortunately firms don't often volunteer to make contributions.
It is like charity collection, you may buy a flag in the street but won't send a cheque to the charitys head office.

1) saturdays goal looked offside
2)Dh should be sold and a striker got in
3) MM is doning a great job
4) where is Fred Binney now?
5)Did you rush the gates at the mansfield home game or run on at the Lincoln game?
6)did you see Peter Ward first goal at Hereford?

Happy I'm a fan now?

The Club meet representatives of the business community on a regular basis.

They have recruited over 100 companies into the Friends of the Albion network (ranging from one man small firms through to corporations like BT). They hold regular Breakfast Meetings with these organisations. The most recent happened this morning (see the Sheffield United matchday programme, page 61).

I have a sneaking suspicion that the Albion's financial appeal might have been mentioned.

Thank you - this answer earlier may have stopped the bad feeling created by what "I" saw as a fairly simple question

You cannot see why someone who has continually supported the club has asked what the club is doing to makes sure we get everything we can out of those that are bleeding us dry
If this is the crux of your question, then it's a pretty weak one. You are basically asking whether the club has gone through a proper tendering process and got all it can from the deal before selecting the best lawfirm to do the job over the Falmer application, yes ? (and then asking for the financial details of the contract in order to back up the answer).

Could you not just take it as a gimmee that DK and MP have "shopped around" and struck up the best deal possible for the club ? Why on earth would they do otherwise ? Lazyness ? Ignorance ? What would be the point of them going with a firm who are going to charge over the odds ? Are you looking for a pricelist comparison so you can beat them over the head with it, kind of a "should have gone to Radio Rentals" scenario ?

It boils down to trust. The men currently running the club have brought us back from the brink of Conference football, back to Brighton, overseen 3 promotions, brought in three top class managers despite our dire facilities, and have helped drive the club to mid-table in The Championship. This club is punching so far above its weight, its unbelievable.

And yet you STILL carry doubts and suspicions about the men in charge making the decisions which have got us here. Of course you have a right to ask questions about the club, but the nature of your questions have been nothing less than thinly veiled accusations of the club pissing money, our money, up the wall, when nothing could be further from the truth.

If you can't see why you are getting some justifiable stick on here for that, then I suggest you go back to whatever board you usually inhabit. Perhaps people are more receptive to your insinuations and innuedo's there.
