I think it is something to do with the BBC reporting accusations about his son being involved in dodgy deals with that Sports Agency?

It actually goes back to something that was reported in "Match of The Day" Magazine, something published by BBC Enterprises and nothing (I understand) to do with the programme beyond the brand name.

I can't remember whether it was criticism of his son, or criticism against him specifically.

Anyway - he hasn't done an interview with that programme since.

Whats Alan Green got to do with MOTD you clown :dunce:

Alan Green made some comments about Fergie that he took exception to, (see one of his tedious autobiogs for the full details), so Taggart has blanked the WHOLE of the BBC.

Yep, the disagreement goes back to 2000

Sir Alex imposed the ban because of remarks made by the broadcaster Pat Murphy in the Match of the Day magazine and passages in the Radio 5 Live commentator Alan Green's autobiography, which were critical of the team.

(The Wikipedia entry on Sir Alex is wrong saying the ban is because of a programme about his son in 2004. This was just the final nail in the coffin in the relationship)

I thought it was because he felt MOTD were Liverpool biased (Hansen and Lawro as pundits) and didn't give MUFC enough credit
