Why do the press slag off other countries!!!

What is it about the press in this country always slagging off other countries. Why is it before every match that England play the press start sounding off, why dont they just shut the F&*k up and wait for the match to be played. I just heard the most stupid thing on TV this morning, this twat journalist said that the French have no passion lol, and think more of the Tour de France, and I was was thinking to myself, well of course they think more of the Tour de France, its there national bloody sport, the biggest bike race in the world that's why.

I like to think of it as being the same as when Brighton have a big match coming up we get fans of the other club coming on here mouthing off (Swindon, Bristol City etc) and some Albion fans do the same on their sites.
Try to take it in as a bit of friendly banter between two nations rather than deep set xenophobia, although I know the press do sometimes go over the top with it, Germany in Euro '96 comes to mind!

I'd be all for some friendly banter but some of the scum press here take it too far and embarrass our fair nation.

They'll be taking the moral high ground if some of our pond life create any trouble. They're just as f***ing bad. Hate them.

I just watch tv or listen to the radio for news nowadays.

(French have no passion? That's a corker. We had some great banter in Calais with our England shirts on. They have a great sense of humour)

The tabloid press in this country are a national disgrace, possibly only rivaled by some of the crap written in the Australian press whenever a team from England are playing one of their national sides. When we invariably lose, all the crap about the frog, and pigs trotter eating "enemy" etc, makes us look rather stupid.
