This video was posted on another thread. Our goal is scored around the 8:00 mark. I reckon Duffy goes running behind Maupay, jumps up in the air a couple of times in front of the Albion fans, continues past the incoming Sanchez and then resumes the ear-cupping as he heads (out of shot) past the Palace fans further down the side of the pitch - all without stopping!!!

Absolute legend!

In that video Duffy must be doing the whole length of the Arthur Waite Stand faster than Usain Bolt whilst cupping his ears.
Unfortunately the video cuts away at the point he would have been overtaking Bolt.

"Why Did he Let it Bounce" to the tune of "Once I Caught a Fish Alive"

One, two, three, four; five
The Palace keeper takes a dive
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten
Then he gives the ball straight back again

Why did he let it bounce
To give Maupay a chance to pounce
And when he hit the ball into the net
The Palace fans got all upset

Fine, fine work!

Maybe this third line scans slightly better...

Why did he let it bounce

You're clearly not singing it correctly! Let me assist with the phrasing. The accent needs to be on the following words in the third line:

"And when he hit the ball in-to the net"

Maybe it needs a poll.

Wonderful - you're not called Marlowe for nothing. This is up there with The Passionate Shepherd to His Love. :albion2:

I'm with you. The whole second verse scans fine.

I do think you need to lose a syllable (just delete 'Then') from this line though:

"Then he gives the ball straight back again"

Lol - hands down the funniest thing I’ve seen for ages.

As others have said, the “oh no…” and the brilliantly timed “why… are utterly, utterly priceless.

What makes it even funnier, is the fear in the “oh no” followed by the near resignation and defeat of the: “why’d you let it bounce...?” He’s almost crying when he says it ... seriously had me in bits.

It was the most perfect, perfect bit of Karma ever.

Brilliant stuff.

"Why did you let it bounce?" is going to become my go-to phrase for ANY future cock-up or easily avoidable error.
