Why did Oscar leave Maccabi Tel Aviv?

in England its not hard to find spanish vibe in London or Brighton.....Isreal is very Isreal.......and with the ten million jewish rules and strangeness, its no wonder they wanted out.

Tel Aviv is not much different to any other Mediterranean city, as liberal and secular as the rest of Europe. Don't usually have any problems with rockets etc as not within range of Gaza or West Bank.

Vicente is on record as saying he would be happy to stay at Brighton.

But after his first season here, it was obvious he wanted to go back to Spain for family reasons. Poyet made him stay against his wishes, it would seem.

I think Vicente was just keeping his options open. I'm sure he'd get an offer or two in Spain but presumably we were paying him a pretty penny so shouldn't entirely burn his bridges. Maybe he also got the vibe that changes are in the offing at The Amex and who knows a Spanish manager might get parachuted in so might get another chance? Maybe someone had a word in his ear?

I wonder how realistic it is to think Vicente might return if Oscar became manager?
