I've just been watching the BBC news, whilst doing the ironing, and something worries me. It's claimed that the NHS and care homes need to rely on immigrants to make up the work force. Why on earth can't the UK provide it's own workers? Please explain.

Short term profit rules here. Everything's sub-contracted to as near zero-hours as they can get away with, else it's outsourced 'offshore'. Anybody UK-trained with a genuine skill of benefit to the community (bankers and estate agents need not apply) should simply bugger off to Oz where they properly value such skills and will pay accordingly. Plus you'll have a lifestyle to die for. Nowhere better on the planet to bring up your kids. IMHO, like.
