Why are there so many AFRICAN teams in the World Cup ?

I would like to see an end to the regionalised qualifying. Split them into groups with no seeding and the top two go through. I would like to see the smaller nations qualify as they won't get better without their youth seeing the glamour of the global stage (in my opinion)

Fine so does qualification depend on how many kids play football with jumpers for goal posts and balls made of plastic bags tied together with string or which are the best teams to compete in a world cup?

Does a competition wish to be a closed shop? How would nations ever excel if they were excluded through a qualification process?

Who is to decide who is better than who?

The FIFA ranking system suggests Scotland are better than Sweden.

I think the system is perfectly adequate. Creating a closed shop because one team has a mega star would be rubbish.
