Why all the shouting for OGH ? Am I alone in thinking that Currie can play a bit ?

At work - probably
I think he deserves a chance. We didn't lose on Tuesday because of Currie. I'm afraid as much as OGH is a cult hero his crossing is not good enough for a winger. Currie barely lost the ball once on Tuesday and although he cannot go tearing down the line like OGH his passing and final ball is far better. However I would agree OGH's defending is much better and possibly the reason why Virgo has been exposed so much in the last two games. Same with Harding on the other side - Jonah is better defensively than Jarrett. Although I think Jarrett is going to be an excellent player for the club

currie is just being used as a scapegoat. he is technically very good. good crosser and his corners were class

Yeh but but at both Reading and Plymouth he was so of the pace it was scary.

We've bought in Jarrett who looks every bit the tricky left winger. Molango, a forward on a mission. Nicholas, a defensive midfield linchpin and Currie an over weight twenty-nine year old who, even in his prime couldn't cut it at this level. Can you spot the odd one out?

Not that I'm not completely behind both the playing and backroom staff at the club - I have to ask why? Why offer this guy a years contract? You would have thought we learnt our lesson last time round with Kitson.

Fairs fair, he did set up young Jake's goal at Reading with a pretty marvellous cross, and I'm not doubting his skill level. But he looks of the pace. He simply isn't match fit. McGhee needs to look at Gary Hart or even *gasp* David Lee

If he's so good and worth a chance why has no other Division 1 player given him a chance?

It is all about opinions which is why some players make it at clubs after being turned down by others prime example OGH turned down after trials by Orient.

I happen to value MM opinion and believe that he will be proved right with Currie after giving him a run in the team.

All last season everyone said Hart wasn't playing to his best.

All last season everyone said we need a creative midfielder.

Why not give him a chance and stop making him out as a scapegoat. Paul Reid has hardly been mentioned. Not only was he poor he ensured Currie was poor because Currie had to help defend which wasn't his job.

Quite a few clubs wanted him this summer.

There was a lot of whining because we were f***ing awful.

I don't care that its only two games into a new season. The performance v plymouth would have been unacceptable if it had been a pre season friendly or the last game of the season.

We should have been at least competitive with Plymouth (they too came up so there shouldn't be the gulf in committment and ability that was on show on Tuesday.

And as for Currie   he was the worst of the lot. if he wants to spend a year standing around on his own for the whole game making no contribution and putting in less effort like he did v Plymouth offereing nothing to the cause, then he can piss off now. I'm not prepared to accept that level of performance from ANY Albion player, and when i see it I'll let them know.

I've seen too many crap players in Albion colours over the years, not to know one when i see one and I'm afraid Currie is rapidly looking like being the new Jason Peake.

Well said that man! I don't necessarily agree that Currie was the worst of the lot, but what we want (correction, DEMAND) from every player in an Albion shirt is 100% effort (a la Gary Hart) and until Currie offers us that he will get stick ... and deservedly so.

Currie will be a good player for us when he gets fit. He certainly has the skill.

I loved that back heel to the overlapping Virgo the other night.

currie is a ball player. give it to his feet and he'll produce something. the trouble is we're not getting the ball to give to him to proudce something. when he got it on tuesday he put in good crosses

That last post of mine got screwed up. What it should have said:

Well said that man!

While I don't necessarily agree that Currie was the worst player on the field, we should expect (no, make that "DEMAND") that every player in an Albion shirt gives 100% effort throughout the game (a la Gery Hart). Until Currie does that he can expect some stick.

dont matter
He's never an out and out winger ala Jarrett, He's more of a Beckham type, i.e. play a killer ball from a bit further out, and i'm sure that some time this season he'll do just that.
Probably at the moment, he's the best passer of a ball in the team, might be worth a go in the centre.
