It happened nine years ago dude!!

Are we seriously gonna wank over some achievement that happened almost a decade ago?

Why have Man United been so successful? The win something, celebrate their success for a few days and then forget they even achieved it so they are hungry to win more. I do not want to keep going on about 'we won the play-offs agaisnt bristol city in 2003!', otherwise 20 years will pass without winning nothing.

Seriously move on, no wonder this club has been so unsuccessful.

Because they stuck with ferguson even though in his first four years they won nothing?

I bet they won more games than we will, even with a mis-firing Ferguson.
The history of him becoming the most successful manager around, is hardly likely to be equalled, is it. How many stand as evidence of the opposite - while Ferguson is the 'exception to the rule'.

One thing for every one of you on here who imagine 'Sir Micky Adams' being the next one; :nono: :tosser:

I never said that Micky Adams would become the next Alex Ferguson. In my opinion, as that is what this wonderful game is about, stability = success. We are in this position now, as a club. Surely we should be trying to move out of it as a club?

(All the teams around us - Crewe, Cheltenham, Leyton Orient, Swindon, have changed their managers this season, they're still here.)

I've been bemused by a lot of his tactics this season too, I just think that we're more likely to go to wembley and stay up this season with Adams than without him. That's what I want, thus I'm given no other option but to support him.

Don't worry, NMH has a habit of taking things out of context and then putting his own little bit of spin on top. It's why he has so many detractors.

I bet Alex Ferguson couldn't win us the Premiership in 14 years with no ground or money. But hey i might be wrong?

Why is Ferguson even mentioned then?

I'll say it again - if people mention Ferguson in regards to our management issue; :tosser:

No we wouldn't "win the Premier League" even if we had Ferguson - not without a ground or money. Goes without saying. So again - Ferguson and his achievement has NOTHING to do with BHAFC.

OK, sorry, I used the obvious example. Let's use David Moyes at Everton? Or even Gary Johnson at Bristol City? Paul Jewell when Wigan ran up the tables? All where stability has given success. Thats leaving out the obvious one of Wenger with Arsenal. The only occasion where I can remember a quick change of manager giving success was the appointment of Iain Dowie when Palace were at the bottom of the Championship, they then ran to the playoffs and made it to the Premiership. Great. BUT, as it wasn't a team built for the long term, they were the Premier League's whipping boys and subsequently went back down.

Anyway, back to the point in hand, my view is that this club needs stability now, rather than change.

Agree 100%, but god we need to improve at the back and quickly. I am getting nervous now.

It's an attempt to show all the "Adams Out" brigade that sticking with your manager through bad times CAN produce results long term. Unfortunately too many people on here can't plan past their next wank rather than understanding some projects take longer than a few months :rant::rant:

Your point would be adequately aligned to us keeping Wilkins as manager, not backtracking to revive the failed career of Adams, only to find that keeping him digs us deeper and deeper and...... until we are back to where we were when he first joined us.

We swapped from a bloke who knew the club all the way from playing days, through the managers that came and went inc. Adams (for a better job, in his case), and knew the players coming up from the youth and reserves. Notice Adams has not dipped into the youth at all, and has relegated those players to the stiffs or occasional appearances on the bench (Cox in particular), while bringing in new faces who have yet to become anything like a team.
Even Thornton, who I'd say was the more talented player for foot skills we have seen, became ineffective under Adams' management of our team.
Johnson looked top notch, but started to fade. Anyinsah lost interest.....and the list goes on....and is getting ever longer

You weren't a fan nine years ago Adrie? And we won the play off final in 2004 - my maths isn't brilliant, but I make that approaching 5 years ago.

The only reason why Manchester United move on and then celebrate something else is because they win things year in, year out. Brighton weren't and aren't used to winning stuff, so it is still good to look back. Hell, if we didn't, we'd all have killed ourselves by now, or we'd have no fans at all.

And Albion "numpties" - Archer, Belotti, Stanley. All others look like saints when compared to those bastards.

AND whats more, England won the World Cup in '66 - does that mean that we shouldn't even think about it even more?

And that, my friends, is the reason why you shouldn't even give this idiot the time of day. Thread closed.

If you look at the facts both Adams' and Taylor's achievements at the club in getting promotion were exactly the same, they both one Championships in the leagues that they managed in.

However for 1066 to say that Adams is a numpty on the same level as Leon Knight is complete and utter bollocks, even though I want Adams to leave the club now, I recognise what he did for us in the past.
