I know all about the Falmer plans and I am so pleased for you all. It wasn't meant to turn out the way it did, I genuinely hoped Toad Hall Valley would get the go ahead.

Mr Gritt was indeed a superb manager. I thought I had made the job completely impossible, but no, Steve Gritt did perform a miracle and save the club.

Banning him, Artois would have been very destructive and would have almost certainly lead to the club going, down and out of business. I would have had to console myself with the fact that I'd made £2m on the deal, but that wouldn't have been the point, what's £2m to me anyway, I earned £73m last year.
