Brighton factually.....
Absolutely buzzing even more now. Bring on the Wembley Palace match up.

I understand logically why people don't want to face them, but by Christ I just don't get it from an emotional perspective. Don't people want to FEEL things in life?
This.

Fulham were dire today, zero intent of even getting a shot away.

Bring it on….

I watched a Fulham game recently where I thought they were very poor, can’t remember who against. They looked toothless despite having more of the ball, it was very sideways and backwards, and hope for Iwobi to do something. Exactly the same today, have to admit Palace were good for that comprehensive win. Fulham for all their possession did bugger all really - it was a bit Potter.

Do the BBC not know where Crystal Palace is??

Probably one of the BBC Sport interns who seem to be running the live text show these days.

I'm surprised that they didn't shoehorn a reference to Manchester United in somewhere.

Have to give credit (spit!) to Palace for their current form, but we're just about on a par with that. If we have real aspirations to get to the final (let alone win it), we cannot be fussed about meeting Palace at any stage.
Let's win today and be damned with the draw - there'll only be 4 teams left and anything can happen.
Going back to our last Final, we were genuinely expected to lose (against Man U.), but were so close to snatching it.
This time, we are all so equally matched, so we have no need to fear anyone who's still in it....Palace included.

Another game that shows possesion is is not everything
Yep, the stats are so one sided yet after watching the 2nd half palace totally had the game under control.

I just hate it because whenever it seems important we just always seem to f****** bottle it. I'm still not over that playoff semi final.

Traore really is bloody rubbish
They’re an odd team. Every time I watch them, the likes of Traore, Robinson and Iwobi look so clumsy and technically poor, yet they’re consistently mid table or better.

Couldn’t agree more.

Drama and high stakes is what we want from football.

Doesn’t get much bigger than Brighton Palace at Wembley for both sets of fans.

Some of the comments on here are laughable. Do people honestly think Brighton Palace is the only rivalry in world football?

There have been plenty of relatively trouble free mat at Wembley between the likes of Arsenal/Chelsea Liverpool/Man U England/Scotland etc not to mention the two Sheffield clubs even met there.

The prospect of Brighton v Palace might get Sussex Police excited but I doubt it’d even register with the Met.

Both clubs have relatively small hooligan elements so with 25,000 of each present they’d be diluted almost unnoticeable.

It might even be a bit of a laugh pre match.

No doubt they’ll be tales of the odd punch up and plenty of “bellendary” but I witnessed plenty of that v Notts County in 91. I’m confident those that want to avoid that type of thing will have no additional issues.

Me? I don’t want to play them though, the fear of defeat gives me sleepless nights. We all deep down know how it’ll end!

I’d be out that ground on 90 mins like Billy Feckin Whizz, straight on a train back home 🤣
I don't want to not play Palace because of crowd trouble. I want to not play Palace because losing to them at Wembley would be f***ing horrible. And if it was in the final it would be a thousand times more horrible.

Good lord Matt, no. Not if the feeling is them winning at our expense.

It took me years to get over the 5-0. That was a big game, our first against them in years and a chance to show that we were back after the hell of the 90s.

Then, when I had finally got over it an even bigger game came along - the playoffs. and we shat the bed there too(insert bus driver pun here). The one thing I consoled myself with there was that we'd never play them in a bigger game, so no defeat to them could ever be as bad...

Now we're faced with the horror of a potential semi, or god forbid final, against them?! They win either clubs first trophy at our expense? They qualify for Europe at our expense? No, that's too much feeling for one man to stand.

We need to beat Forest and then hope Man city/bournemouth/Villa/Preston beat them in the semis. Then we can win the cup, play in Europe and keep them as an irrelevancy which is where I rather like them.

You seem to think we are incapable of beating that shower of sh*t. I call bollocks....bring them on and when we beat them, hang your head in shame.

But this is the quandary isn't it.

If we did get them at Wembley - then whoever won would have bragging rights for ages, probably till after I'm gone. Think how fantastic it would be if it were us.

But without the sort of deep low that losing to them would bring, that same high wouldn't be there either.

Yes - we're all still scarred by that play-off.

If we win the cup I’d be thrilled, and if it’s against Palace, well - the happiness would be slightly higher, I guess - but not much. The joy would lie in winning the trophy, no matter who it’s against.

But if we lost the final to Palace, it would be unbearable. Lose to Villa or City or whoever, and I’d be gutted to have come so close to a trophy. Lose to Palace however, and the pain would be a thousand-fold worse… I’d not get over it for the rest of my days.

That’s the quandary.
