[Albion] Who were the (insert your adjective of choice here) booing the side off

So I watched the interview with Matt O'Riley, and the interviewer stated that when the players left the pitch "at the tunnel entrance, there were a few shouts of anger and frustration and things." Whoever you are, WFT, is wrong with you. As far as I am concerned, you can **** off and go support Chelsea or Arsenal you'll fit right in. Sure it wasn't our best performance, and yes historically we struggle against teams we are clear favourites to beat, but seriously yelling at the players when at the moment we are 2nd in the frigging PL, with a new young squad and new young manager. It really doesn't take much for some of us to become entitled twats.
There was no booing at our players. End of thread.

I am in the WSL and the only muted booing I heard was when the officials got near the tunnel

Anyone who claims it happened before the officials went off and was aimed at the players is just outright lying, it didn’t happen in the West Stand, can’t speak for the others

I didn't boo, I was instead laughing at the Southampton fans, who were chanting F VAR.
Given that the onfield decision was offside for their disallowed goal, without VAR the goal would have been disallowed far earlier and their goal celebrations would have cut off in their prime.

'Boo' is such a funny word. A bit like 'poo' and 'wee' to a six year old.

Every time I see it raised in a serious thread I just don't know how to respond. I go to and just end up tittering.

Hours afterwards in the cold light of day, it's easy for it to appear entitled, but it was a frustrating watch, especially that 2nd half.

From a crowd of approximately 30,000 of whom the vast majority would've been disappointed, "a few shouts of anger and frustration" is really nothing to get too worked up about IMHO. IIRC, there were a few shouts of anger and frustration at the Goldstone, a few more at Gillingham amongst the prevailing atmosphere of despondency, a few more at Withdean (Jobi McAnuff's 94th minute winner for Palace, managing to lose 3-4 to Rochdale in pouring rain...), and a few more at the Amex prior to last night. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

Fans react differently, the overwhelming majority would've bit their tongues and gone into the night. The fact that a few didn't, never have and never will doesn't fundamentally change who we are. That is, extremely appreciative and proud of a side that's playing such good football overall that there's now a belief and expectation, not entitlement, that we could, not should, come away with 3 points most games. Thus frustration expressed when we don't is in some way complimentary, although I'm realistic enough to concede that it's unlikely to be interpreted as that at the time. :)
I totally accept that from the reports on this thread while there were some idiots showing their frustration they were few and far between. I am not saying it was an issue, I am just taking issue with those morons. I don't think you can compare this team to the Goldstone or Gillingham, in those years we were playing at the level we had for years, sure we had a brief stint in the limelight, but nothing compared to what we are achieving now. At this point in the season we have never been better placed, we have a very young squad, none of whom are massive stars in their own right, the manager is not only new to the PL he is very young as well, and yet here we are 2nd in the PL. And we have dickheads booing and shouting at the side for not winning. As I said, in my opinion, they should f*** off to Chelsea and Arsenal, where they would fit in nicely.

It's not just being vocal on the ground, it's popping up here on this forum, people aren't happy with our performances, they are criticising tactics and players, holding their judgement on a manager who right now is leading a team that is doing better than any other team in our history. FFS

Ok that's a take I hadn't thought of. Although I would be surprised if it were the players, normally they are pretty tight lipped. If so how dare the players shout at themselves 😂
I imagine there was a bit of post match shouting in the tunnel between the managers/match officials as an extension of earlier yellow cards (which may have spilt over to other coaches) - that one wasn’t going away anytime soon - maybe that was what was heard?

Yep quite possibly, but as some have said on here there were some disgruntled "fans" in the stands

I suspect if there was any booing, from our fans towards the tunnel, it was aimed at the Stains camp as they left the pitch.

I have never heard booing from the WSL in all the times I have sat near the duggout/tunnel - (except ‘good naturedly’ at returning managers and players) - WSL fans are too cool for that 🙂

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
That's what I took it to mean too. I think there was a bit of arguing/a minor altercation between the benches at the final whistle. I assumed it was related to that.
One of the Southampton coaches/assistants received a yellow card.
