Who got the biggest bargain us in getting Leon Knight on a free transfer which will probably cost £100,000 if we go up or Spurs getting Zamora for only £1.5 Million
Knight to us me thinks as he was free and has scored 11 goals already (top scorer in the division).
Bobby went when the transfer market was low. We could have sold him 18 months prior to Everton at 3 million. However, I'm suprised Spurs paid so much for him when other players sold at the same time went for the same amount of money. Bobby was just a 2nd division player.
I think about the same. Bobby will prove himself eventually. I think he is a better long term prospect than Kanoute and less injury prone than Keane. When you think they shelled out £6.5m for Postiga - he was a bargain.
Leon has given us £100,000 worth already. To be a bargain, he needs to put it in over the whole season.
Definately Knight to us.
Players will come and go, we got ripped off with the Zamora money to a degree, but it was probably the best we were going to get under the circumstances.
OK sometimes our creative paly is not as good as it was, but no one can question the commitment and skill that Leon has brought to the club, and the league position speaks for itself.
Knight because he came from a Prem club and was already a known and rated player by many. Zamora was plucked from obscurity at Rovers and £100k is a big sum for a 19 yr old reserve at a Div 3 football club.
We're geting an immeadiate return on our investment and, sacriligious as it may be, could Leon outscore Bobby in his first season ? Hopefully Bobby will work out at Spurs as he deserves his success, it may very well come down to who eventually takes over there though.
One thing about losing Bobby, we don't seem to be acused of being a one man team anymore. Surely if Chris McFee (and hopefully Jake) can get amongst the goals then we'll actually post much more of a threat in this division than we did two years ago. Teams like Notts County will find that they have to kick more than one player.
