Can anyone think of a case when this hasn't happened before yesterday?

The most similar case I can remember happened in a Cardiff City game at Colchester back in 1993. A player called Nick Richardson whacked the ball goalwards from about 30 yards out and it hit Cohen Griffith, who was standing on the edge of the area, on the arse and deflected into the net.

Richardson was credited with the goal, not Griffith.

Me and Owen are similar, I'm pathetic to try an claw back some of my losses and Owen is sad for trying to bag a goal when he is also going through a barren run.

Who decides whether the original shot was on target? What if it was curling or windy?

And what if it was going towards the post? hitting the post is counted as a shot on target.

the scorer is the person who kicks it into the goal...simple!!!!

therefore owen scored!

But not the view of
1) the majority on here
2) the people who actually decide who scored it and
3) Ladbrokes :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

Hello Daniel.

Why do we often hear managers talking about about strikers going through barron spells needing one to go in off their arse or shin to get their confidence levels back up?

Whoever heard of somebody scoring by mistake?!? And I don't mean own goals...

Owen knew nothing about it until it was in the net, he was running out of the way. You can throw stats and rules into it all day, as far as I am concerned Lampard got the ball, he shoots, he scores!!!! :clap2:

This means when the ball is crossed in and they miss time a shot, or the defender trys to clear it and it rebounds of them in to the goal.

Quite simply, if that had been the defender's leg, everyone here would have been supporting Lampard in claiming the goal, not saying it was an own goal.

It's Lampard's, no doubt in my mind

That Yeovil player scored by mistake against Plymouth when he was trying to play the ball back to the Plymouth keeper after it had been put out play so a player could receive treatment!

but it was never going in....until owen kicked the ball(a quite normall site in FOOTBALL) and it went in the GOAL.

therefore(to sum up!) OWEN KICKED BALL IN GOAL

LAMPARD NOT KICK BALL IN GOAL
