Given we've been something of a schizophrenic team this season there's no doubt if the tactics are right, key, and the squad are the right personality on the day then there is no team the Albion can't beat in the 2nd. Granted we'll have to change the dynamic of our recent game. I'm opening up for some criticism I'm sure, but I think McGhee is the key to our success on the day and not necessarily for the right reasons.

How often have we played well this season? Not very.....3/4 times at best

We desperately need a good performance after the embarrassment/elation of getting past Swindon.

Granted, City were poor against Hartlepool but we were infinetly poorer against Swindon.

More concerned with a good performance rather than a result, worryingly, just to regain some credibility.

Only way I can see us win is if we do play defensively, ala/ Swindon, then do them on penalties

So when did realism have anything to do with it? On the strength of our performances this season, we left realism behind about last October. This is SOMETHING ELSE

I do have been saying it for most of the season.we can play bad some weeks but still be better then the others. On Sunday I just think (hope) our season will come together and we will have the performance we've been waiting for.
So it is 5-4 on pens after a 0-0 120 minutes.:clap2: :clap2:

If Leon decides to play, Nathan doesn't try to showboat too much, Virgo and Harding keep their nerve and Cullip and Butters play as we all know they can, we can win. If Leon decides not to play we may not score, but nor will they (if all other combinations work) - so to penalties. If Nathan showboats too much, and Leon decides he wants to play, he may get pissed off because Nathan fails to deliver the ball, in which case Leon may decide not to play and we won't score. If other factors outlined above work they will not score either - and so to penalties. If Cullip does not play to full potential but Butters does we may sneek it (if Leon decides to play and Nathan does not showboat too much) but we might draw which may mean penalties. This would also be the outcome if Butters is off his game but Cullip isn't. If both Butters and Cullip are off their game I think we will lose - however, if Leon is on fire we may draw. If Harding and Virgo get the wobbles we may be vulnerable to wide attacks which, if Butters and Cullip are off their game could cause us to lose. Unless of course Roberts plays a blinder and keeps the ball out in which case we may win or draw. If Roberts plays a blinder and Leon rises to the occasion at the same time we will probably win, despite poor performances from Butters, Cullip, Virgo and Harding, although that is unlikely and we may draw or lose. If, however, They score two and we score three we will win.

Given all that, I still think we will win, unless...................

I couldn't care less about being credible. We have played well against the better teams.
We beat Plymouth and QPR on tv. Is that credible enough?

The result is what matters.

Yes the actual play against Swindon was bad but we did score exactly the same number of goals that they did which is why it had to be a penalty shoot out. They took their's so badly they deserved to lose. I make no apology for that,

Nothing wrong with defending, we have about the third best defence in the division; I do think we need to go on the attack and be brave enough to go and win it.
Play to feet more and mix the play up more; be less predictable.
Playing to Leon's feet in the spaces between their defence and midfield should have them chasing shadows.

Go on Neon !

From time to time, when I'm nervously awaiting the outcome of something or other I say to myself "if so and so happens then all will be well".

Tonight I flicked on The Hits channel saying that if I liked the song currently playing then we'd be OK on Thursday. Turned out to be Sean Paul which I gave the benefit of the doubt to in the circumstances.

Then decided to flick to TMF and if I liked that one then we'd triumph at Cardiff..... Adverts. So I the casting vote would have to be the next song back on The Hits.....

And it was Franz Ferdinand - which I bought last week :D :smokin:

Bring it On!!!

Virtually ignored last week but Thursday was spot on - we did get the benefit of the doubt!

So on this highly scientific basis I'm convinced we'll romp home on Sunday, surprising ourselves as well as the watching world with our play!
