The ref, for disallowing Sol Campbell's goal.

But other than that Portugal looked the superior side and sadly we didn't deserve to go through.

The scapegoats are to blame! (apologies to the great John O'Farrell).

A long way away
i dont really see the point in blaming anyone, its not going to change anything, they play as a team, they will all shoulder the dissapointment together, if there is anyone to blame, in my opinion it was the ref, he made so many bad decisions, he was terrible, .......no he was worse than terrible, he was f*****g awful !!!!!!:(

Excuse me if i am wrong, but i thought football was a team game. Pathetic.

Why don't you start hanging the Beckham effigies again. At least he had the (golden) bollocks to take a penalty. Would you have AFC Womble?

I blame the entire England midfield.
If they'd have actually bothered turning up last night, we'd have had a very decent chance of making the semi's.

The ref was of course partially to balme as he was without doubt a cocker of the highest order, but trying to sit on a one nil lead for 87 minutes is just never going to work.
