To my surprise, I am almost central in politics, but I am more towards libertarian than authoritarian which I expected (although not as much as I expected).

I am quite happy with this. Certainly not extreme anything, not dismissive to those in need, but definitely inclined to question rules and regulations.

No Policy Politics At last election Labour had plenty of policies and promised everything but still didnt get in. I have voted over the years for both but would say whatever party was in power dealing with Brexit and Covid would struggle. Maybe a chance many out there think they havent dealt with these too badly. I will make my judgement of this government in next 2 years when hopefully Covid etc thing of the past.
So many very anti Tory on here. May I ask when a government has had to deal with such 2 major things since the war why havent your Labour party made any headway.

You mean you haven't made a judgement on this government yet? Wow, surely they've shown enough to give you rough idea where they are going :)

Since this thread was bounced yesterday, Corbyn is mentioned 14 times and Starmer 4 times.

And yes, I am bored.
Always a useful reminder to all those seeking to condemn and lecture others about their political choices, especially on the topics of incompetent leadership, incompetent (shadow) cabinet members, racism, divisiveness, culture war proponents, when they all preferred to see Corbyn and his motley crew in power [emoji106]

It's just the "Fantasy Corbyn PM" game - back in the best sellers list again it seems.

I'm not Tory. Have never voted Tory. Doubt I ever will. I have been opposed to what they stand for since I was a young man. Neoliberalism, as it's called, doesn't work.

But, I'm also unable to just say that all Tories are terrible. There are degrees. I disagree with them, but if I start hating them all then I lose the ability to have a discourse with them. You can't change minds if you don't talk.

No I havent. I am not an out and out Tory but with few exceptions think they have handled Covid and Brexit ok and will now be interesting to see how they now take us forward especially bilions they need to get back from taxpayers
I will go back to my question to Tory haters Why at last election with country in such a mess and they were promising everything why didnt Labour attract more support. Are they different now

I have long believed that the majority of British people are by nature left-leaning libertarians.

I used to work with a team who all considered themselves (and were) dedicated Tory voters.
When we all did a similar test to the one provided here, pretty much every one of us came out in the bottom left quadrant.

Brighton factually.....
Hmmm seems a vast majority of NSC folks have very similar political and social views...
And to think, i am embarrassed to say when I was teenager I held right wing views and nearly got dragged into some pretty heavy shit, by some very serious people.
See you can change and educate yourself, talking, understanding and education make a good human.

I came out smack bang in the middle of bottom left.

I'd like to consider myself as only one or two squares from centre, into that quadrant, but I just don't think that's possible in the current incredibly divisive society.

Completely off topic but his mess of a brother wasn’t endearing himself to the populous of B & H on Saturday, interfering with those people getting vaccine’s and pedalling fake news to anyone who would listen, absolute back to front.

I know this is an old poll and attitudes have changed, but re-reading the options the one I think is actually offensive is 'Black/Asian'. Why shouldn't black or Asian people vote Tory? Capitalists and entrepreneurs don't have to be white, and successful business people have often tended to vote Tory. In modern Britain a large number of successful business people are non-white, so it follows that the Tory party will have non-white voters and indeed members. And witness the relatively (in historical terms) high number of people of Asian heritage who hold senior government posts - including two of the four great Offices of State. It is, frankly, an area where they (the Tories) put us (Labour) to shame.

It smacks a little bit of 'white saviour': "Oh you people of color you shouldn't vote Tory, they don't represent your sort."

Seriously though, nobody wins with these political threads. If people want to bicker incessantly about stuff they neither understand properly or particularly care about, start a thread about pre nineteenth century agricultural practices.........either that or vote for this bloke nobody

What are your thoughts on crop rotation in the 14th century?
