definatly Arsenal by a country mile. then Chelsea who've picked up a large fan base amongst the SW boroughs (where were they for Wimbledon eh? ). Tottenham trails way behind now.

West Ham is the biggest club in essex.

In this context, what does 'biggest' club actually mean and what period of time does it cover?

Brentford won their league, I think that makes them the best London club, in relative terms atleast.

Charlton were the worst!

1. You need to read the thread title again.
2. If you are measuring success by your criteria, what about AFC Wimbledon who played 42 games, 82 points and 86 goals scored. Brentford is 46 games with 85 points and only 65 goals scored. If you check further, you will probably find some junior team somewhere in London won everygame 20-0 so they, on your criteria, would be the biggest club.

In a pile of football shirts
Arsenal - biggest stadium and somewhat controversially I expect, the most history.

Arsenal were the first Franchise scum team really, 1913, upped sticks and moved, and they retained part of their original name. I guess people got over that one in the end, wonder how long it will take for MK.

Fulham - I believe they are the oldest 'league' club in London, therefore, the most history...

So does oldest club mean the same thing as biggest club?
Is highest average attendance the criteria for judging biggest club?
Highest turnover?
The club with the highest league position?
Overall honours?
What?

Is the right answer. Spurs will also have a new 58000 seat ground in a few years which will make the competion with the Woolwich interesting.

West Ham have tradition and style but not much silverware.

Chelski are a small club owned by a rich crook.

you havent won the title for 48 years  , all the arsenal i know dont really look at you as rivals anymore , the real london rivalry is arsenal chelsea, and then the second tier one between west ham and spurs , tell me what makes you a big club ? if its silverware won in the past then that would have made the likes of blackpool , preston and huddersfield big clubs in the eighties and nineties, were they ? i think you know the answer, your like a faded film star who cant accept that her glory days are long gone :lolol:

Tottenham might well be a second tier big club but so are chelsea, and until recently chelsea weren't even that. They're both in the shadow of Arsenal who are genuinely a big club. Despite not having won the title in the lifetime of the majority of people alive on this earth Tottenham still have plenty of trophies and finals appearances spread out over numerous era's. Something that I don't think Chelsea can claim? I suspect Tottenham have had a consistently larger fanbase than chelsea over the past 100 years aswell.
