No but it has been a long time since we had a genuine centre midfield partnership which looked like flourishing.

I am just suggesting we don't mess them about. Also, Virgo will be a threat from set pieces and bursting into the box perhaps more from midfield where he is not picked up than upfront when he will be more of a target man with his back to goal.

If Robinson et al cannot be trusted to come in when either Murray or Forster is suspended or injured then we might as well release them all now...

A re-jig has been imposed on us through Murrays stupidity. I'd agree its a pain to move Virgo now, but this really shows the shortfall in cover we have for our front two. NONE of the alternative "strikers" can cut it - we already know that. So the lesser of two evils is to shove Virgs up there with Forster for this one, because (a) you can be damn sure he is about 5 times more likely to pop up with a goal than ANY of the alternatives, and (b) we DO have more alternatives to try in midfield.

Murray will obviously be back up front for the very next game, but Virgo is simply the best option in the meantime.

I think Virgo is the obvious option just seems a shame to break up his partnership and if he is picked upfront it sort of sends a pretty clear message out to Dixon, Robinson, Hart et al.

You have to ask what the point of them is...

Robinson for me. I think he should be given a chance to play up front where he had so much promise, whether he can play with Forster though I'm not sure. If Virgo goes upfront bring Livermore into CM which is his favoured position

Forster and Virgo upfront.
With either El-Abd or Livermore coming in along side Thomson.

I would go for Virgo with El-Abd in midfield. From what I saw on Saturday, Virgo hasn't lost it - if anything he has got better.

You've got to go with Virgo. He's the only reasonable cover in that area, plus you have Livermore or Fraser to chose from in centre midfield, plus El Abd if he is fit.

Is McLeod definitely out for Saturday? Woudn't he be an option?

Thats what i was thinking, although Livermore hardly set the world alight playing on the left last night.

Adams pretty much said it would be Virgo though, when he spoke about a little and large partnership. Shame as be better to let Virgs and Thomson continue in centre midfield.

So despite his poor performance last night would bring Livermore in alongside Thomson, he can't be as bad as his performances so far have shown so give him a chance and see if he can show the ability he must have.

I personally would have to say Virgs.

I am fast losing faith on young Robinson (the boy with loads of promise?)

He needs to prove to MA why he should stay at the Albion, a VERY big seasn for he lad imo!

Not even one week into the new season and Murray's idiocy has underlined just how lightweight we are up front. Virgo will surely play with Forster on SATURDAY but I don't think this is the answer. We need to buy another goal scorer.
