Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
I'm definately in the Brooker camp.
Nobody seems to be showing any imagination right now, some of our more 'average' players raised their game playing alongside Brooker and Bob, we are really lacking some inspiration right now.

If we're just talking about this season then for me it's definitely Brooker. We just don't seem to have any threat down the left. Jones tries hard enough but simply isn't a winger.

As for the others in the list:

Zamora: Not missed him as much as we feared, still getting goals.

Morgan: Blackwell more than filled his boots and that's really showing at the moment.

Lewis: Definitely did a job last time but not what you'd call indispensible.

Steele: The only thing we miss about him is his amazing ability to miss from two yards. Absolute shite who should have got at least 20 goals in Div 2, the amount of chances he had.

Ingimarrson/Sidwell: Can't really include them as they were loan signing and quite obviously in a class above us.

Webb: Yeah, right!!

Zamora.Got goals out of nothing and did loads of excellent work(like the holding the ball up) which helped the team.

I agree that we're probably not so much lacking the firepower up front as the service to them! Therefore i voted for Sidwell!

I would certainly say Zamora. But I would say in the summer that we signed Zamora and Brooker permanently we really showed we were moving forwards with two excellent signings. And I would say both have been missed, although Brooker at times did go missing in certain games.

I also actually think we miss Morgan to a certain degree too, we won a lot of games 1-0 in our Division Two championship and that was largely based on the solid defence built around the partnership between Cullip and Morgan.

I think that we would miss Ivar Ingimarsson and Steve Sidewell more if they had been at the club longer.

Out of all those I think it must be Brooker. Knight can do the Zamora role, but we miss someone Brookeresque to create the chances.

Thing is Zamora wasn’t just good for the thirty goals a season he would get. Coppell is on record as saying that he thinks Zamora was worth 40 odd goals due to the number of goals he played a part in. Zamora also has a football brain and skill to match, which made him such a threat in Divisions 3 to 1. Finally just the name Zamora would make other teams think, some would go with a man marker, others would allow Zamora to occupy as many defenders as was needed to keep him quiet, but this meant other Albion players got more room.

Well I imagine teams were a lot more weary of an Albion side with Zamora upfront than one which had Marney and McPhee!

It's Zamora by a mile. Being a striker isn't just about scoring. Zamora was so good he could play up front on his own, hold the ball-up, socre enough goals for 2 players, and give us another man in midfield.

I remember when we used to play 4-5-1 with Hart on the right & Brooker on the left, and we had three ball-winners in the middle. Other teams just didn't get a kick because our extra man in midfield meant we over-ran every team we played. Knight hasn't got the ability to do that

Never replaced Aspinall. All anyone says these days is that the squad is too light/thin. Sign a fat bloke now !

I think Bobby just took the pressure off the whole team. Opponents normally had at least 2 defenders on him. Which meant the midfield were helping out the defence which meant they weren't as effective going forward, which meant their forwards were adrift.

That's how I saw it anyway. And he still scored all those goals! We miss everyone else on that list to a certain degree (Simon Morgan would be next on my list)

Its got to be Zamora. I would put any/all of the selections straight into the 1st team now. Also where's Kuipers.

Our best 3 players over the last 3 years hugely responsible for 2 championships:

1. Zamora - gone
2. Cullip - playing well below his ability at the moment
3. Kuipers - gone

:(
