Our recruitment last summer doesn't seem so good does it?
I am going to predict that Gruda, Ferdi, Georginio, Minteh and Gomez (Does he count) will all come good.

The jury is out on O'Riley and Weiffer.

Who else? I've not been following those straight out to loans.

Largely agree but I think Weiffer will come good. There’s a very good player in there. O’Reilly I’m not so sure.

Fair, I haven't given up on Weiffer either, just not quite so sure as the others.

I think O'Riley will move on and be decent elsewhere.

I am surprised you haven't noticed but it is going pretty well. It started when we were in league 1 playing in an athletics track. Our wonder, his name is Tony Bloom has projected us from their through the Championship and into the premier league. There is more: We are now an established Premier League team, had a little taste of Europe and we are now knocking on the door for another.

We have done so well there is a near mythical film coming out about the 'process' we have gone through.
So the start date was last century and there’s no finish date. A wish in other words. Which is fine, just projects don’t really exist in football. It’s all about the season we’re in. Soon as it finishes, it’s all change again.

Hard to say. Everybody in the squad who we paid money for in the summer has missed at least a month of the season through injury: Wieffer, Kadioglu, Gruda, Minteh, O'Riley and now Rutter.

Thankfully our owner doesn't look at football like this, he has been working on this project for some time now (officially this century but certainly some influence in the last bit of the last one). It appears to me that he also has his on the next few seasons as he makes decisions.

I hope there is no finish date, Tony's project is the best thing that has ever happened to our club and I hope it continues indefinitely.

I am struggling to see how the lack of an end date can be seen as a 'wish'?

You’ve described our recent history, not a project. Projects have start and finish dates. I think you mean ambition.

The very definition of a project (in the IT world, at least) is that it must have a set start and end date. It cannot roll-on indefinitely.

What Tony is doing with Brighton does not fit that definition, at least, I hope to God he doesn't have an end-date in mind ....

I think I have explained very clearly what I mean when I said project. You can argue semantics all you like and add your own definitions but I stand by my comment and view of what Tony Bloom has done for us all.

I would suggest you go and do something you enjoy and spend some time with people who make you happy rather than arguing with me what I mean by 'project'.

Okay, l stand corrected.

let's call it the process. That should stop anyone getting upset. 😂

I am intrigued though, what do you call a project that doesn't have an end date?

Well, he retired years ago, so you're probably right. At least he's not on the wage bill any more. Quite good back in the day though - but not up to the level we are at now.

In the IT world, all projects must have an end date. When a project completes, (delivers its scope / objectives) it moves into "support and maintenance".

Quality is an example of a journey, no end date, as you never finish, always trying to be better. This could align with our BHA football journey.

The team definately needs maintenance, and of course, (our) support.

🤦‍♂️

Jesus Christ - yes, let's get rid of one of the best goalkeepers in his age group in the world.

It wasn't until John-the-Tistbap anointed him that his goalkeeper skills were truly miracle doings.

All we're seeing from him is potential. He's not making saves, he's not getting us points.

Potential is all you'd expect given his age. But I don't think you could say we would miss what he currently gives us
I think what often gets overlooked is the tactical element. We’ve spent most of this season leaving our defence wide open, meaning BV is often facing high quality chances. Unlike someone like Sels at Forest, who’s sitting behind a deep, narrow defence. It’s a really difficult job being a goalkeeper for this side, under this manager, and outside of an Allison, an Ederson or maybe a Martinez, I don’t think there’s many in the league who would substantially improve us given the style of play we demand.

I think it's time to get rid of Mitoma. He's supposedly at his peak, and his value is only going to go down from here (it will already have gone down quite a lot, with a short rise after that goal).

I am constantly finding him so frustrating to watch, his final ball and decision making have consistently gotten worse, and they weren't great to begin with. I know he is seen as a world-class player by many of our fans but for me, his lack of end product, save the occasional bit of world-class skill, means he isn't near that tier.

Football is always cycles of moving players on. We do need move some along and evolve as a team.

Tbh a really commanding first choice physical CB with pace is needed and the RB position needs to evolve unless Ferdi is the answer there if he ever recovers from his injured toe. That will most likely mean moving a couple on but that is football or you stagnant.

Lampety and Webster are both good enough but injuries have blighted there time here. Based on recent weeks Webster is potentially our best CB once he gets a run of games. Unfortunately that run stops around 5/6 and that’s it for 3 months.
Adringa’s time maybe coming to an end if Osman does end up having a role.
Ensico and Bounoette may not fit into how we play to play going forward.

We have a couple out on loan that may end up in the first team squad in Osman and Yalcouye as well especially the latter. So I’d be happy with a CB and a RB try and keep the main core together this season and maybe 3/4 are moved on.
