Only one of them described staying with us as "the easy option" and continually patronised us. It's 100% Potter.

Poyet transformed the club and brought success, but like De Zerbi it was always going to end in tears. They're both just a little mad, in a good way. The highs were wonderful, and the press conferences were entertaining. Potter.. boring, dull and full of snarky comments. Oh, and the emotional intelligence of a snail if you ask me.

Poyet/RDZ were like slightly unhinged ex-girlfriends; unpredictable, short-term but a lot of fun. Potter was like that hot ex who looked good on paper but you just didn't click with and was a total downer.
The most over hyped manager in the PL. Potter ball worse than Loppy ball.

Potter was a snidey prick for most of his time here, most of which he needed the club to keep putting out stories about how xG was good and things weren't as bad as it looked. Then he f***ed off just as it all clicked.

Poyet and RDZ ended up leaving on a sour note but you really did feel they LOVED the club and fans while they were here. The complete opposite of Potter.

That old love is the tip of the iceberg.

I’ve nearly finished my book, “Go lick a Window”*, should be out late summer 👍

*(“Albion From Every Angle” actually, but there’s still that little shock jock inside me 😂)
I look forward to it

Unless you are supping from the bowl of the elixir of life I would have guessed you were about 12 in 83.....
In which case, your journalist genes switched on very early.
For that, and many other things, I salute you :salute:

De zerbi for me.

Potter took a dream job and pay rise that few would turn down, Poyet had reason to be a bit frustrated as he was working with a tiny budget, something that wasn't addressed till after Hypia almost took us down.

De Zerbi inherited a talented squad and was given funds but was petulant and pretty much downed tools after the Europa exit. Probably our most successful manager but his attitude stunk towards the end of his tenure.

Given funds? We didn’t get one top target over the line that summer and then nothing in January.

Maybe not his top targets but we signed Pedro, Milner, Baleba, Fati, Dahoud, Baleba and Minteh off the top of my head. Clearly some didnt work out but he was backed. It was always going to be tough to replace Macalister and Caicedo, had he bought into the project he would have benefited from a further 200 million backing.

The Baleba brothers, failing with those two was a sackable offence in itself.

Minteh was part of the vast spend after RDZ left.

IIRC RDZ only started complaining in the January window when we were f**** with injuries and wanted reinforcements. He called it right imo.

Utter bollocks. Don't disrespect any of our former managers. Some did better than others, it's true - but some were also dealt a better had of cards too.
What a f*cki* awful wankfest of a thread anyway. Pathetic and all who sail in her!

Thank the lord for the 'ignore thread' button to get sh*t like this off the internet screen,
