I love 80's music as well. With every era there was good artists and utter twots. I think 80's music is better than music that is out now.

P.S I was born 1986. But I can remember 80's music being played when I was 3 or 4 very well

Wa very few exceptions, 1984-1989 was a bleak time for popular music.

Ain't that the truth. 1985 was the year that I finally stopped watching TOTP and buying NME.

Sadly, it was about this time that my beloved reggae started to morph into dancehall and I soon got bored with the constant sexual bragging and homophobia. Then, the same thing happened with rap.

I thought it was just me getting old but I really think that the music was just crap.

Oh and Deano, you're right. How could I forget Gary Numan? Shit music and shit human being.

I am also going to nominate Prince. A man who looks like a midget smothered in wallpaper paste and dipped into a bucket of pubic hair. I would slap his face for a while, but it looks like too many people have got there ahead of me.

I've just remembered Huey Lewis and The News, and feel slightly ill.

1984-1989 was a great time for music, but none of it got in the charts...

Jesus and Mary Chain, Husker Du, My Bloody Valentine, Pixies, Public Enemy, Spacemen 3, Bogshed- a golden age...

Nick Heyward and Haircut 100 ............ ugh.

Tight Fit ............ please don't ever, ever mention that name again.

Bros .......... triple ugh.

I spent most of the '80's listening to Alan ' fluff ' Freeman on Capital radio. Couldn't stand the chart stuff.
