Anyone been to the usual spots this week such as Sheffield Park, Wakehurst Place, Nymans. Are any of them in good colour yet?

Marks and Spencer are right on vogue this seaon, but I do prefer George at Asda for their amazing originality at such a down to earth price. Although you cannot go wrong with Next. Hope this helps.

Massachusetts. Just got back: lovely, from what I could see through the rain and snow.

Next week is predicted to be "the" week for autumn colours this year, hopefully it won't be stormy and ruin everything.
You can't go wrong with Sheffield Park and the other usual suspects.
Wisley would be worth a try, and if you fancy a bit of travelling, you can't beat Westonbirt.

Visiting these places can become quite expensive if you're not a member of the National Trust (though in itself, annual membership is fairly steep).

You could just take a walk around the Lilac Gardens next to Peacock Lane. At least it's free.

My personal favourite is Petworth Park. Great colours and landscape plus herds of deer and there is no charge for walking in the grounds.

Time for a chant revival...

I went to Sheffield Park Sunday before last and it was in fine colour, but I agree with the above posting that this wekend is the biggie, pretty soon the wind will blow the leaves down from the trees.

Every bugger will be there complete with camera, so if it's just you and partner I'd pop in later after the crowds have gone.
