This is like being asked "Death or bongo?"

Crawley I suppose, by dint of its proximity to Gatwick and London.

I like Hastings, it's got a bit of character. Reminds me of Brighton a few years back when it was a bit run down, before it got overrun by DFLs.

Town centre needs razing to the ground and starting again IMHO -
Which is exactly what is supposed to be happening...allegedly.
I like living in Burgess Hill - easy access to the sea, London, Gatwick, South Downs etc with house prices almost affordable. As long as you don't want to have an even vaguely reasonable pub in walking distance and have no need of any sort of decent retail (although we do have a Waitrose dontchaknow) then you are all set. If you are a connoisseur of charity shops or need a haircut you are in heaven!

Back to the OP - Hastings definitely.

Spot on, same for me. Don't forget the ENORMOUS range of places to have a coffee.........

As I originate from Hastings,
I choose Hastings, as there are some parts of the town that do not resemble the Gaza strip yet

Crawley.
I love it here, I have a three bedroom house with a large garden and car parking, great neighbours, local pub that also serves up some of the best Indian food in Sussex, lots of green spaces, I can walk for 10 minutes in one direction and be in the town centre, 10 minutes in another direction and be in countryside.

I assume you only ever walk in another direction? :)
