I'm with you, love Uwe, a shame for him but obviously Duffy and Dunk have been outstanding. I suspect the reason is that Tomori can cover as either full back or centre back and he didn't feel the need to have two defenders on the bench.

I like Uwe too, but I reckon the reason for his absence is an injury that we haven't been told about. Hughton consistently puts two defenders on the bench but, at present, of the 'first-team squad' (i.e. not DS/u-23s) there are multiple defender injuries or absences (Goldson, Bong, Rosenior) and this is why he's gone with just one on the bench in the past two games.
It might be the case that Hughton was displeased with Uwe's performances against Lincoln and Brentford, but I'd doubt it. The other option is that Hughton is now really going for it, and putting four attacking players on the bench, but I really doubt that.
