Not only were the moon landings faked but also the world is flat. The horizon only appears to curve (at sea or at altitiude for example) because light is refracted by the atmosphere.

There is convincing evidence that at the very least a number of the photographs were faked to 'sex up' the landings. it occurred at the height of the cold war, and the returns from such a venture needed to be as impressive as possible.

At the very worst the whole thing was a Capricorn 1 type episode, with the 'real' astronauts dieing a terrible radiation riddled death before the got to the moon.
