The consummate professional. Leaves Brighton as a hero. But now he isn't a Brighton player, I will like to see him fail.

This is likely to be our biggest spending window ever.
I bet Tony doesn't have to fund a single transfer.
TB has become a billionaire by correctly assessing the value in thousands of markets.
One individual deal being seemingly cheap, doesn't undermine the model.

In regards to replacing Mac, we already have his replacements at the club.
We don't have one for Caicedo, whose value to the club, has now gone up considerably.

Not seemingly, bargain basement price for a player of that quality and character even at 45 million.

Just as Boehly paying stupid amounts of money for players is a bad look for that club, letting players go for a lot less than they are worth is also a bad look.

Of course it is. But as fans we want the best for the club, so it's very disappointing to see us being shafted like this.
We haven't been shafted.

Some plastic twitter clowns, may like to pretend we have been, but we haven't.
This deal was agreed some time ago. It is part of a strategy, that only TB will fully understand.

Tony is playing 3D chess, every one else is playing Checkers (Draughts)

Sorry if fixtures (can't be bothered to go through today's posts), but the Liverpool Echo is reporting the fee as 45m + add-ons in this story here, which was updated at lunchtime today: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/alexis-mac-allister-fee-hint-27066457

That seems more realistic than Romano's 35m claim. And the Echo is *very* well-connected when it comes to Liverpool FC. It's clear they consider 45m + add-ons to be a great bit of business for LFC, so if it was actually 35m, you'd expect them to be singing it from the rooftops.

It isn't as bad a look as you think it is.
A player was developed and sold on to an elite club, with no fuss from the club, for a decent profit.
He is the perfect case-study, for all prospective signings.

Sorry to see him go, but he had reached his ceiling with us and needed to move on.
Whatever the add ons are, we can be sure his performances will trigger them.

It is bad if we get 35 million and that's it.

It's better if it's 45 with add ons.

I'm not quite sure what the alternative is....do we STOP Mac Allister going?! The club obviously did well to persuade him to sign another contract a few months ago. If they hadn't then he'd be going for a lot less.

Lots of journalists have verying opinions - hopefully te £35M gess turns ut to be bollocks.

It seems that only Romano and the sources that quote him (i.e. The Daily Fail) that are sticking with the £35M. Can't really give much credence to Romano's/Te Mail's report that he is on (only!) £100K a week either.
:lolol: ten days ago most ‘experts’ were saying £65m. Then Ornstein revealed the contract mechanism, whereupon many here were effectively calling him a liar.

The £35m thing seems to be driven solely by Romano's tweet.
Sources from both clubs are indicating a higher fee + add ons.

Tony won't have agreed a bad deal.
Whether the low fee is part of a larger strategy, or a reward for an exemplary employee, will only be known by him.

Why are you and Tyrone still parroting the 35m as a final fee, it's not helping your arguments.
Parroting? Bollocks! £35M has been reported - some think this is true, others are putting forward various hypothetical arguments to 'prove' it isn't - but if it is true then it is peanuts.

But of course, you're right. Nobody should dare to question those NSCers with inside knowledge who know exactly how much the add-ons come to!

I would start with credible journalists, rather than a twitter personality.

The only strategy we have consistently had in regards to fees is "undisclosed".

Nobody has said 35. All the press indicate 45 to 55.

We've had six months to prepare for this prospect.

Genuinely astonished fans started threads pondering IF it would happen.

If we keep hold of the likes of Pervis, Ferg and Mitoma, we will have done ok imo.
ok moi luv......still a smack in the cluster though.

Consummate professional? ???

Having your dad meet representatives of other clubs whilst your employed by another club, then inserting a clause that allows your immediate transfer when the said club comes in, knowing this clause, is hardly professional is it.
