So the players are getting a couple of days off after the shitshow from the last week?

interesting,

must be because we just have to turn up on Saturday, to get our season back on track.
Just to reiterate: I have no idea.

I just commented that the radio silence from the entire squad is a bit unusual.

And putting 2 + 2 together, that could mean that they (or some of them) have some time off and, possibly aware of the optics, have kept quiet.

The 2+2 could equal 5 - there's no way of knowing whether that is a "live" photo from Joao Pedro or not.

He photoshopped this image, he is in fact in the treatment room at Lancing along with half of the squad from Saturday.

Or even, with all these conspiracy theories about, if it really IS Joao l guess. Makes mental note to check Joao's left leg at the Leicester game, so see if really is heavily tattooed.

It is - I checked that out before posting.

As he's one of a dying breed of "socks up" players, it took a little bit of hunting out, but I found a photo.

Good. Seriously, above anything else our key players simply looked very tired/leggy last week. If we’d flown halfway around the world, played international football, flown back again etc etc then anyone would be pretty knacked by the time we got to that dreadful khazi Selhurst. So if a bit of time off refuels them then it’s a bit silly to be churlish about it IMHO.

Not an issue with time off. It's the flying again I'm more concerned about

Google Lens suggests it could be the Nobu Hotel in Marbella 👀

Image search for "Nobu Marbella pool" and it certainly looks like it. I do know other Albion players have been there before (sorry secret sauce).

Footballers go to Marbella because some of the world leading experts on various sports injuries have their businesses there. Haaland is there with his family at the moment, as an example.

Given that he certainly didn't look 100% fit against Palace, I'd say there's about 0% chance he is Marbella on "vacation". Athletes go there for world class medical expertise... if they want fun, they go somewhere where it isn't crawling with sport physios.

Good point. Just pleased he hasn't gone to Turkey otherwise he might have had a BBL and need bigger shorts on Saturday

Everyone can stop guessing, it's Nobu hotel in Marbella.

Oh the ones that I know about went there for fun but I'm sure you're right about the physios.

Possible, guess its not unusual to mix it.

We had several players on rehab in Marbella this summer while the rest of the team was in Japan so clearly there's good connections between the club and the resources in Marbella.

2 hours in a plane to Malaga or two hours stuck in traffic on the A27? I suggest the former is not as bad.

No, no no. Players must be punished severely for losing a game. On the other hand, looking at his feet, he will be lucky to escape severe arthritis when he gets to 50.
Hopefully a couple of days relaxing and water therapy will do them the world of good and give them some energy for the weekend.

Interesting that - as I was once told that one of the biggest issues with players injuries on international duty was in the journey to the holding camps I.e plane leg room, luggage etc

2 hours in business class isn't going to be too damaging......

Hope they all have a bit of time off. We looked gassed the last couple of games. Schedule for the rest of the season is decent so a quick recharge now makes perfect sense
Business class to malaga? That will be interesting - easyjet extra leg room seat next to a group of hens 😀

Business to Marbs? Isn't that just where you get a headrest, no middle seat, priority boarding and a curled up sandwich?

The players did look leggy against Villa and Palace, considering that FH likes to play a high intensity game, he would have seen sub par performances from the players and maybe took the view that a quick rest instead of heavy training is the right course of action.

Regenerate those legs and minds, clear any thoughts of those two performances, start afresh for the run in for Europe.

if it works (if the above is correct) then he will come across as a genius. Although I'm sure RDZ did something similar? Could be wrong though.
