They have been turned off for a while to cut down on bandwith along with the avatars i think...

But there are other ways of getting smileys on here...

Probably because NSC went close to its bandwidth limits-possibly over it even so we can't use smilies any more for a while

Not as much as your forwards missed the goal in that 9-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool

I'll protect how you do the smilies.

NSC goes over its bandwidth every month, this month there has been around a 100% increase in bandwidth use. This means if it continues that way Bozza will be getting a bill for around £200 this month for exceeding bandwidth. (40 000mb at £0.005 per mb (around £5 per 1000mb) +vat work it out for thyselves)

The increase seems to have coincided with all the other "commercial" message boards being switched off and the coppell affair.

All I can say is its a good job my credit card has a £6900 limit on it!

Not sure turning off the aves and smilies is making much of an impression though. It was still around 2600mb yesterday (it was 1600mb on Sunday and that is normally around 7 - 800mb)

Ask yourself do you really need to refresh the page every 5 minutes and spend 18 hours a day in here? can you not spend 5 mins in here then go away for an hour and come back? I'd add a tongue in cheek smilie at this point but I don't want to add to the bandwidth!

It's very hard to argue with you on that point Marvin.

I'll not be on here all day tomorrow.

So tell me-if I'm on here, don't log off and leave nsc in the background does it dramatically add to bandwidth usage?

I'm happy to send in a cheque for a tenner if you are having a whip-round.
