It would be good to get some positive news before the parade on the 18th of July. Otherwise I think the town hall reception will become a massive demonstration.

Argus today says -
The outcome of the Falmerstadium enquiry could be known by August, John Prescotts office said. From tonight no more evidence will be accepted. Mr Prescott and his advisers will consider submissions on the proposals and reach a verdict. It was thought that an announcement would come either before parliament breaks for the summer or shortly after. However a spokesman for the ODPM told the Argus it could be disclosed in August. A date for the decsion had not yet been determined. The spokesman said 'decisions can be taken over the summer, last August a similar decision was taken over an asylum centre in Oxfordshire. All decions that come to us areinvariably large complex and often contraversial and lots of people are keen to know the outcome. Rather than hold back for Parliament to be in session it will be communicated to the appellants and planning authority so everyone will be kept in the loop'

Just e-mailed the ODPM to ask them:dunce:

and this was the reply...

I am not yet able to indicate when the decision on these planning
applications will be issued.

The First Secretary of State is currently seeking comments from the
relevant parties about issues arising since the close of the inquiry, in
order that he may take a more fully informed decision. Any further
representations received will then need to be circulated to the parties
before the decisions can be issued.

The First Secretary of State will, however, endeavour to issue the
decisions on the applications as soon as possible once the exchange of
representations has been completed.

Yours sincerely,
