I've arrived in the second half. Around about 60 minutes. (And we weren't going to even be let in the ground until for once the police stepped in and got something right)

It was away at the Scum, we'd be rounded up at the station, section 60d, frog marched around, then from somewhere a brick was thrown injured a Leeds fan caused all sorts of hassles and the ob wouldn't let us move. Thus making us late.

Arrived at Withdean, avoided due to circs beyond my control, with only 15 minutes to go.

The gate stewards wouldn't let me in, despite my having paid the full ticket price, because of the alleged possibility of me being trampled to death by hoards imminently leaving!

whilst at Gillingham twice I arrived at half-time for the delights of
Doncaster (fans United) who Came bottom that year
Hartlepool 3rd or second bottom that year. Classic games.
:lolol: ???

BR BADLY F*CKED UP BOTH TIMES DURING THEIR ENGINEERING WORKS,

on the positive side i didn't see much of Gillingham on those days and I did find a cafe doing a mug of tea for 35p.

I visited an ex-Albion player, who was recovering from a bad injury, on my way to a Luton game. He was in a sports injury clinic in Windsor. I stayed far longer than I had planned because he was so down in the dumps.

I arrived at Kenilworth Road as the half time whistle blew. When I went to the office I discovered some bastard had nicked the ticket left in my name. I, in turn, nicked a dentist's ticket by saying it had been left in my mate's name.

When I entered the ground Brighton were trailing by a Gary Williams own goal. Mark Lawrenson sat in front of me with his arm in plaster. Teddy Maybank equalised with a free kick and the final score was 1-1. It was a very vital away point in what was to become the season we were promoted to the top division.

After the game the team coach was blocked by a Rolls Royce. After a quarter of an hour's search inside the hospitality areas the driver couldn't be found. Mullers organised the team, and roped me in, to bounce the Roller along the gravel and out of the coach's way.

I'll always remember that game. It was quite an eventful day.

Away at Stoke, arrived half an hour into the game after getting stuck on the M6, wished I hadn't bothered, won't be going back.

Arrived at Brisbane Road at half-time after getting stuck in traffic. Only time.

Lots of narrow misses because of queues. Lots and lots.

Notably Rochdale at home in 1971 arriving an hour before kick-off and only just getting in before the gates closed and a few seasons later for a Sunday match against Rochdale as well because of the huge queues and special Sunday rules or something.

Nearly missed Rochdale away match because we had language problems trying top buy petrol. And nearly missed Peter Ward's first goal at Hereford because of the Police.

The Swindon play off semi, due to the delay of the trains, had to get a lift from an Albion fan, I was chatting to on the train by car from Brighton Station to get to the game ontime as it was p***ing with rain. Pretty risky getting a lift with a stranger. But got there in one piece sadly, I was 15 minutes late. Apart from that never late.

I was about half an hour late for a home game against Macclesfield a few seasons ago, Missed the train from hassocks, the next train didn't stop at Preston Park so we had to get another train from Brighton. As we were running to the ground heard a massive cheer as Brighton scored.
