PS - The main thing on here that caused a "gosh, I had forgotten about those" moment was the mention of the cigarette stubbers on the bus seat backs - youngsters probably can't comprehend that it was A ok to smoke on the bus and B the company provided facilities to put you fag out and were presumably ok with it being dropped on the floor afterwards.

It was quicker and cheaper to sweep the floor than empty 70 ashtrays.

Being taken on a junior school trip to Black Rock to look for sealife after the tide had gone out
Watching the seawalls of Brighton marina being constructed over the formerly mentioned Black Rock from the clifs above. I think they
had a little railway on them to carry huge concrete caisons to the end, then dropped them in the sea interlocking with the previous one.
Double Deckers on TV. Didn't they have a cartoon in the middle of it about a micro person, or was that Banana Splits ?
Schools being Infant/Junior/Secondary or Grammar instead of this Year 6 stuff imported from the USA ! I have no idea how old a kid is when they mention
their school year !
