Ah. Finally. Being someone that works on a cruise ship, this is something that often gets asked.

I was always told a boat can fit on a ship. We have lifeboats on a cruise ship.

So are cruise ships boats or ships ?

In my view it's in the mind of the killer. If the assassin believes the subject is important to kill due to political, ideological, religious, financial, or military reasons then it is an assassination. It doesn't matter whether it makes the news programs or not.
Good points.
Well presented.

Had a mate on Southampton, which had to suffer the same indignity after their collision in the gulf. So, yes, 42's aren't real ships!
Was this in bahrain and they grounded the depth sonar? My mate above was on that one and had to dive down to see what the issue was.

If you're not sure if it's a crow or a raven, it's a crow.

Don't know if this helps.

We have the enormous wealth of knowledge from the various plumbing, gardening, building, birdwatching, electrical, Mortgage broking, accounting, banking, computing etc cliques on NSC, but despite having a number of ex (and current) matelots here we still can't find out what the difference between a boat and a ship is

When the sunlight doesn't penetrate to the bottom of the whole area ?
So is a deep well considered a lake?
Are all bodies of water in caves called lakes?
I feel I may be overthinking this.
