The Grey BASTARDS have shat all over them.

Marginalised British Red Squirrels have been confined by the proliferation of the successfully aggressive American Gray Squirrel.
Reds are to be found sanctuaried (culling makes sure of the encroaching of grays) in the North West of England, mostly, and are quite rarely seen even there.

In Sweden, I have only seen Red Squirrels. They are the coolest.
Grays ought to become more of a dish served regularly on skewers, and present at the meat counter.
That would sort them, and feed us.

You also get red squirrels on the Isle of Wight as the grey ones haven't learned how to catch the hovercraft or the ferry :moo:

There haven't been any red squirrels in Sussex (let alone England) for a looooong time, they were displaced by the larger, stronger Grey squirrel who was brought back to England from America around 130 years ago.
Red squirrels are now found only in heavily wooded parts of Northern Scotland and some parts of Wales, but predominantly Ireland.
I knew A-Level Biology case studies would be useful one day.

I have only ever seen one red squirrel, and that was in France.

I last saw white dog shit sometime around the late 70's. I always assumed for some strange reason that it was poodle shit, not quite sure why.

Brownsea Island just off Bournemouth is the only part of the country that isn't inhabited by grey squirrels, solely red fellas.

I thought there was a line drawn in the sand, so to speak, somewhere around Cumbria ? So the very northern tips of England and Isle of Wight still have them ?

Edit: Sorry, I see what you mean. Total absence of greys. My mistake.

Sorry to be so pedantic but I think you mean Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour. It really gets my goat when Bournemouth gets the kudos for things that are actually in Poole!

I saw the occasional Red one when I was living in The Lake District.
You omitted that region - but I believe it's being seen a preservation area for Reds.

Ashdown forest in the early 70's. Didn't see another one anywhere in the UK until April this year in Herefordshire.
