I guess the majority of posters on NSC are too young to remember the days when homosexuality was illegal. When I first came to the town, to live in Kemp Town, the law was in the process of changing. Brighton's gay community was visible, but very nervous of public attitudes. And there was a lot of establishment opposition.Cheeky Monkey said:I know what you're saying Easy, I suppose it's because homosexuals are in a minority that has historically has been oppressed and shame is attached to being homosexual, which for centuries and beyond led gays to be ' in the closet' and so pride is basically saying 'f*** that' I was born like this and I'm gonna be proud, not ashamed or hiding away any more.

What money have the council given us? This is all part of the misunderstanding that a lot of people have that the club is somehow being funded out of the public purse.
