Well, back in the day (60s) the Salvation Army band would march up and down the Goldstone pitch at half time playing Sussex by the Sea. Maybe it went out of fashion a bit in the Seventies when Bamber decided that the Rocky theme tune was appropriate.
I was there the game Mike Bamber returned from a trip to the states and declared we would play the Rocky theme as our entrance music. Think I'm right in saying it got booed and outsung (easily done at a roofless Goldstone) and GoSbtS returned shortly.

Now that is something that deserved loud booing

I just looked up Mike Bamber because I was interested in how old he was when he died. Just 57, shocked

Didn't realise he was so young. 42 when he became chairman and 49 years old when he took us to the promised land first time around.
But back then I was 24 when promoted so guess to me he was old.
