What's the saddest thing you've ever done?

My current project might count. I managed to get a DVD from EBay with every episode of Beavis & Butthead. It turns out the naughty man had downloaded them all from the internet. :nono:

Anyway, with the help of Super DVD Creator, I am in the process of turning them ALL into DVD files. It takes between 5 and 20 minutes - per episode! Considering there are well over 100 episodes, this may take a while. A fair few are failing the convert process which will make it harder to complete and which screws up batch conversion.

But, as there are no such DVD's available, it is my only way of getting a complete collection.

So, who can claim sadder activities than mine?

I once went back and listed all the away games I'd ever gone to in my life. I then went onto the AA website, and using their routemap I added up all the miles I'd travelled to each ground (there and back) to get a total milage for my away trips.

The total milage worked out to be approximately from England to Australia, and halfway back again. I then sat back in my chair and basked in pointless satisfaction at it all.

(I just KNOW some of you are going to do exactly the same as me now, because you know that you're sad. Like me).

Hither (sometimes Thither)
One of the saddest things i've done recently was to let myself become annoyed by St Lenny and The Auditor.

When i was at school, many many years ago now, there was a parade through town. We could dress as anything we liked. Obviously, i decided that i wanted to go as a tomato. I spent a month or so crafting my papier mache body. It was painstaking work. On the day itself, i wore tights and sprayed my hair green. The march lasted about 10 minutes as we made our way to Churchill Square. What i hadn't thought of was how i'd get home and how ridiculous i'd look when i wasn;t surrounded by my peers dressed as hedgehogs and clouds. I trudged that awful 20 minutes with people laughing and occasionally throwing things at me, all the while bemoaning the lack of forethought that meant i had nowhere to hold my bus-fare.

I once saved up my pocket money to buy a packet of day glow tights - one pair lime green, one orange, one pink and one lemon and seriously thought I was cool..... my mother has photographic evidence of the orange ones with a short white mini skirt and white heels - oh the shame.....:nono:

Fairly sad to be having to post such stuff on your birthday. No mates?
