With the price of tuna as it is I suspect that will be more The Duke of Westminster's estate than East Brighton Park these days.

Big no to gammon or cheese and onion or meat paste ! All are with the greatest of respect very downmarket choices and not acceptable for a good quality cricket match sandwich .

Most importantly use very fresh bread and only put it out ready for eating a max of 15 mins before or the sandwiches will start to dry out .

Just about perfect.

Rare to get a tea like that though. Basic cheese and pickle is more likely.

In the 80s I played for a while for a team from the London Trinidad community. The families would prepare chicken roti for tea; I would always recommend that.

One of the Crawley teams always has a good curry and rice available for tea. Had the same at Worthing Chips place too.
