Whilst doing my A-levels I worked part time in the Sainsburys butchers dept, London Road - Friday Nights and Saturdays. At the Academy cinema, West St, selling ice creams, kia-ora, hot dogs - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights and at the Odeon, West Street - late show Saturday night. Left school in 1972, worked at my Dad's hotel for 6 months, on a building site for 6 months with the Great Omani and then started as an Assistant QS for Rice & son Ltd in 1973 - £728 per annum
