After watching the news about these child abusers, it got me thinking what would you like to see done to these individuals, and any other sex offenders

depending on the severity i think, sex offences (especially against children) have such a severe impact on the victim and victims family and wider community that surely they should be an exception for other crimes and warrant punishments ranging from castration to death penalty. This is the only crime where i truly think- according to severity- the death penalty is warranted, some criminals will never be able to reform (especially this type) and even though you can't catch sex offenders until they've committed a sex offence at least if you remove the offending organs or completely remove them from the planet you can at least stop them from ever doing it to some one else

This should be an issue on which everyone on the forum should agree. The abhorrence I felt when I heard about the details of this case cannot be printed.

I personally would not let them be segregated but spend the rest of their lives with the ordinary cons. Whatever the mainstream lags have done their collective repulsion against these vile bastards would ensure at least decades of torment, even then that would not be enough.

at least once a year one of these vile cases come to light which suggests to me there are hundreds if not thousands of kids in THIS country being subjected to this kind of inhumane treatment at any one time,im afraid whilst our judicial system treats the perpatraitors as human and therefore have rights,there will be many many more cases of this unthinkable form of crime hitting the headlines,i do not think there is a form of punishment that has been invented yet for these total scum,the very idea that i will be contributing to thier well being in a 3 square a day prison makes my stomach turn,but that is the reality until our feeble laws on child abuse are changed and the fuckers that did it, pay and not the rest of society.

Does prison work for them? They get preferential treatment, a name change and early release. The punishment needs to be something which would actually make these people stop and think. It has to, by necessity, be something that they actively fear. I can think of millions of punishments revolving around violence, but I am not sure that would be enough to deter these people, and would ultimately lead to people being arrested for committing that violence. There has to be something that simply marks these people out to society as being "unwanted and untrustworthy" - to turn them into total outcasts, to make their lives a complete misery. Perhaps open cells in open prisons? They can be visited and mocked, they can have things thrown at them. No comforts, no socialising, minimal shelter - treated like animals with no rights at all. I don't know. The fear of death drives them underground to commit their crimes, it's too final.

Well if you believe in a heaven and hell-which i do- then their ultimate punishment will be eternal punishment when they die. We can punish them all we like on earth, but for these hideously evil characters there is no hope of salvation from GOD they will go straight to HELL

I love all these sorts of threads, lets torture murderers e.t.c, as far as im concerned a life of hard labour north korean style would be a good one, or we could sell them off as slaves, i mean come on, the slave trade did a lot of good for england didnt it? and arn't we constantly being reminded to be more proud of our country and its heritage? the more i look at it actually the more bringing back the slave trade seems like a great thing to do, we all get rich, and no one wanted these foreigners to be here did they? and anyway, god said we could.

Although I'm not normally a violent person (quite the opposite in fact) I'd like to see them sent out in to the street wearing a t-shirt printed with their names and what they've done. I'm sure it wouldn't be long before justice was served. Form an orderly queue !

What I would like is that the law of the land deals with them. As, without that, society would descend into chaos fairly quickly. The outpourings of grief and outrage on NSC when there is a case like this is moderately entertaining, if only for the sheer tediousness of the views. It is akin to leaders expressing their sorrow at some national disaster or other. Of course it is repugnant; that is axiomatic. However, dealing with the perpetrators and minimising the number of future occurrences are both complex matters and, from the evidence of the posts on this site, beyond the wit and intelligence of the overwhelming majority of posters.
