In last season's Carling Cup, second round, Manchester City were away at Bristol City. The attendance (14,541) was 89 per cent of Bristol City's average home gate for the whole season (16,293).

Is there any reason why the Albion should attract a bigger than average crowd for this fixture when Bristol City couldn't?

Yes, because we have more fairweather fans than most. If it's on Sky it will badly affect the gate as many fairweather fans will prefer to watch on the box...imo

depends if the city fans are in the south stand (want their 15% allocation) surley then there would need to be segregation and a lower capacity

Serious answers only please!

I live in manchester, admittedly I have not been to many games recently, however what are my chances to see my team come to the town I live in?

ps And no, I am not a STH.

Thanks everyone!

The attendance will depend on how many are still queueing up at the collection point at 7.45 when the game kicks off. :)
Could be more than a sell out if they open the gates and non ticket holders get in.

Whatever the attendance, you can bet all the 'fans' will come out of the woodwork for the City game.

Will the attendance be restricted because it is a night match, hence not allowing for a technical sell out...in any case I reckon it will be around 7852.
