I was born at 3.45am on 28/08/1982. We played Ipswich Town at 3pm that afternoon at the Goldstone. Yesterday for my birthday, one of my prezzies was a mint condition programme from the game

First day of the 61/62 season, away at Scunthorpe in the old Div 2.

3-3.

That put us 11th in the table. We were to reach the heady hights of 4th 8 games later, but finished bottom.

Had to look it up on Soccerbase but it was on Saturday 4th March 1978 in the old division 2 and a 1-1 draw at Bolton Wanderers.

The first Albion match after I was born was away against *Crystal Palace* which we lost 0-1. Not my fault, I assure you. I was busy. We ended up 7th that season, top was Bristol Rovers and our neighbours up the London Road were 13th. Unlucky for them.

A 1-0 away win at Notts County. Jimmy Collins scored the goal. It left us 17th in the old Div 3. We were relegated at the end of the season :(

We lost away to Plymouth, 5-0 in 1962. We were bottom of the league. Only positive was that I was born in that year and Liverpool won the league. Divine intervention.
