Not sure what your take is on Ethiopian music?

Over the years I've loved some of the Ethiopiques series, enjoyed Gigi, been blown away by Mulatu Astake and also Samuel Yirga.

I love that. Thanks for the heads up. I know absolutely nothing about Ethiopian music. Most of my African musical knowledge tends to be Mali/Kenya/Nigeria but funnily enough I was listening to Radio 6 this morning and they played Hailu Mergia and Dahlek 'Sintayehu' which sounds great. Very reminiscent of James Taylor Quartet in places.
