Cant remember the name but going from Trafalgar St there was a butchers on the right and my mother and grandmother forever told me how my grandad used to go there on Christmas eve to buy the meat as they always sold it off cheap after about 4.00pm. I remember it being there in the late 50s early 60s not sure when it closed down.

Vinyl Demand I think was there in the late 70's/early 80's.

David's Book Exchange
The Office (pub)
Gunns Florist
Dumb Waiter
Clippers

All of which I think are still there, although Gunns moved down the street on the other side.

Was Red Rat Record Rentals in Sydney Street? Used to rent out the latest albums and sell you C90s, but because they didn't actually do the taping for you, they reckoned they weren't breaking the law. Lasted about six months, I think.

Tiger Music was a fantastic place. I bought a lovely Fender bass there about 20 years ago. Still have it.

I bought a gorgeous electric blue Musicman Sterling bass from Tiger Music in 1995 - still my main axe. John, the main guy that worked there eventually opened an acoustic guitar shop in kemp town but I'm not sure if that's still there now either.

Thats sounds a nice bit of gear - it was a really good shop, so much better than GAK. Mine was a Fender P bass lyte - it doesnt get used a whole lot now as I have accumulated a few more over the years!
